Sarah Cotterell is a London-based artist working across sculpture, painting and printmaking. Her practice is grounded in material processes, where form, surface and structure are used to explore how matter records time, transformation and spatial experience.
Drawing on vernacular architecture, archaeological environments and spatial systems, her work considers how built and natural structures hold traces of human activity and material change.
Through sculptural construction and material-based painting, she develops works that sit between object and image, engaging perception through texture, rhythm and spatial presence.
