Sarah Cotterell is a multidisciplinary British born artist and designer who lives and works in London.
Her artistic language draws on her enriching Caribbean, African and European heritage to convey a unique mixture of travelling narratives through contemporary lenses.
Her work evokes the sense of mysticism, surrealism, primitivism and playfulness.
Inspired by the material African vernacular architecture and guided intuitively, Cotterell explores interconnected stories of mythology, and esoterica. Often re birthing objects and materials used in ancient times.
With each piece Cotterell invites the audience to connect to a sense of spirit and presence.
